Postgraduate degree with an OGPA of 6.50/10.00 under course credit system or with a minimum of 65% marks in the respective degree from a recognized University as mentioned below in the following order of preference: -
Preference Order
- First Preference: Candidates who have passed their postgraduate degrees from ICAR-AU system (SAUs / CAUs / CU with Agriculture faculty) and ICAR accredited universities/colleges.
- Second Preference: Candidates having postgraduate degree from private agricultural universities/ colleges not accredited by ICAR.

Proviso: If any seat remains vacant in Ph.D. Silviculture & Agroforestry, Forest Biology & Tree Improvement, or Forest Products & Utilization, candidates from other M.Sc. (Forestry) disciplines may also be considered.
Basis of Admission
Normal/ self-financing seats: The score obtained in entrance test by the University will be considered for admission in Normal/ self-financing seats of all Ph.D. programmes of this University. The candidates having secured less than 50 marks in the entrance test shall not be considered for appearing in the counselling process/ admission.
Sport and Co-curricular activities seats (Under Normal Seats): Eligibility criteria will be the same as for other candidates under normal seats applying for all Ph.D. degree programmes. The merit of candidates shall be determined on the basis of aggregate score in different sports and co-curricular activities obtained during Master’s degree (upto 31st December of the year) as per weightage of different activities given in the Table given hereunder. Only one sports and co-curricular activity certificate which is most beneficial to the candidate (highest score) per year will be considered. If the candidates having equal aggregate score under sports category, a candidate with higher marks obtained in the entrance test shall be placed in higher merit list. In case, the tie still exists, the candidate with higher OGPA/ Percentage of marks at Master’s level shall be placed higher in merit.
